IM Global Television has signed an exclusive two year first-look TV deal with award-winning writer and producer David Goyer

IM Global Television has signed an exclusive two year first-look TV deal with award-winning writer and producer David Goyer, it was announced today by IM Global Founder and CEO Stuart Ford and IM Global Television President Mark Stern.

Under his Phantom Four banner Goyer has extensive credits in both film and television.  On the film side, Goyer most recently executive produced and Kevin Turen produced Fox Searchlight's Birth of a Nation.  In addition, Goyer was the screenwriter on all three of Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, as well as Batman V Superman, Man of Steel, Blade and Blade: Trinity, which he also directed and producedOn the television side, Goyer was the creator and executive producer on worldwide hit Da Vinci’s Demons, which ran for 3 seasons on Starz.  He was also executive producer and director on ABC’s Flash Forward and co-created Constantine for NBC. He is currently shooting the Superman Prequel Krypton, and also has Brooklyn Animal Control in development at USA.

Said Stern, “David and Kevin are the top creative and producing talents in our field.  Their taste and expertise are a perfect fit for the type of content we are focusing on.   We look forward to working on some amazing projects together!”

Said Ford, "It's a tribute to the scripted division that Mark has built that we can now consider David and Kevin our collaborators in television and I'm delighted too at what this says about IM Global's broader standing in the creative community.”

Said Goyer, "Kevin and I were looking to do something outside the box.  Because the television landscape is changing so quickly and dramatically, we wanted to find partners who were nimble, who could partner with any buyer, and who had a uniquely global outlook.  Stuart and Mark fit that criteria perfectly."

Goyer will executive produce IM Global Television’s previously announced I, REBEL. Created by Dana and Siavash Farahani, I, REBEL is a sweeping character-driven sci-fi series in which an astronaut — lost in space for eight years — crash lands on Earth to find the world colonized and enslaved by a humanoid alien race. His rise from slave to rebel leader will spark a revolution. Jane Fleming (The Frozen Ground) and Mark Ordesky (The Lord of The Rings franchise) are onboard as executive producers, with Turen on board to produce.

Also in development with Goyer is GOLDEN STATE (working title), a seasonal anthology series that tells the story of the LAPD over 150 years.  Beginning with the department’s forerunners in the 1850s, each season jumps forward a generation, charting the evolving and tumultuous relationship between law enforcement and criminals culminating with the devastating LA riots of the 1990s.  Jake Lee Hanne is set to write the sprawling series, with Turen and Linne Radmin of the Radmin Company attached to produce.

A division of independent studio IM Global, IM Global Television’s current slate includes an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s CAT’S CRADLE with Noah Hawley at FX; TNT pilot TIME OF DEATH with M. Night Shyamalan; music series MUSCLE SHOALS executive produced by Johnny Depp and Christi Dembrowski’s Infinitum Nihil, Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Produced and Joshua D. Maurer and Alixandre Witlin’s City Entertainment; true-life crime drama PATROLMAN P with director/executive producer Antoine Fuqua; and an adaptation of Marion Zimmer Bradley’s (Mists of Avalon) DARKOVER books at Amazon. They have another dozen projects in active development, including an adaptation of Ken Garing’s graphic novel PLANETOID by Michael Sherman and Steve Desmond; the post-apocalyptic piece LD50 with Scott Dacko; the modern-noir crime drama DEN OF THIEVES by Sebastian Gutierrez with Trigger Street’s Kevin Spacey & Dana Brunetti executive producing; and the international co-production GLINT with Muse Productions and ProSieben Sat 1.

Earlier this year, Los Angeles-based Tang Media Partners assumed a controlling ownership position in IM Global to help accelerate the company’s growth initiatives.  Simultaneously, TMP arranged a new, expanded television production joint venture, IM Global Television, among IM Global, TMP and Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings, which includes an innovative first-of-its kind programming investment fund also arranged by TMP.
