![]() DDI has acquired worldwide sales rights of TRIPLE WORD SCOREJason Moring, DDI CEO, announced today that DDI has acquired worldwide sales rights of TRIPLE WORD SCORE and will be introducing the title to buyers at the 2016 American Film Market.
TRIPLE WORD SCORE stars Golden Globe award winner actor Bill Nighy (LOVE ACTUALLY, HARRY POTTER), and will be directed by Carl Hunter. Sol Papadopoulos and Roy Boulter will produce under their Hurricane Films banners (SUNSET SONG, A QUIET PASSION) along with Sarada McDermott. Andrea Gibson and Mary McLeod from Gibson & MacLeod (SUNSET SONG, A QUIET PASSION) serve as Executive Producers.
TRIPLE WORD SCORE is an original screenplay by award-winning and prolific UK writer Frank Cottrell Boyce (THE RAILWAY MAN, MILLIONS, HILARY AND JACKIE).
TRIPLE WORD SCORE is the second collaboration between Hurricane Films and DDI following the success of Terence Davies' A QUIET PASSION.
TRIPLE WORD SCORE is the story of Alan (Nighy), a tailor who closes up shop to move in with his surly son Peter and grandson Jack. There is distance between Alan and Peter as he blames his father for the disappearance of his brother Michael. Meanwhile, Alan and Jack begin to bond over their favorite game. Conflict builds to a tipping point when Alan is convinced that an online Scrabble opponent could actually be his missing son and decides to try and meet the player in person. TRIPLE WORD SCORE is emotional multi-generational tale of family, of love, of loss and of finding just the right words.
"We're extremely excited to be working with Sol & Roy once again. TRIPLE WORD SCORE is an absolutely brilliant script from Boyce which, when paired with Bill's acting range, will give moviegoers a truly wonderful experience," said Moring from DDI.
'We're thrilled to be teaming up with DDI again with this wonderful comedy penned by Frank Cottrell Boyce', says Hurricane's Papadopoulos and Boulter.
