Always at The Carlyle picked up by Good Deed Entertainment

GOOD DEED ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES THE NORTH AMERICAN RIGHTS TO

ALWAYS AT THE CARLYLE

Directed by Matthew Miele – Coming in 2018

Good Deed Entertainment has picked up the North American rights to distribute Matthew Miele’s Always at The Carlyle. A truly special film about an absolute one-of-a-kind classic landmark of Manhattan’s elegant Upper East side. This 87-year old legendary hotel has been revered as a destination for the discerning traveler, as well as a favorite haunt for the most prominent residents of New York City. Fully-authorized by The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, Writer/Director Matthew Miele (Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, Crazy About Tiffany’s, and Harry Benson: Shoot First) is now telling the story of The Carlyle in a feature length documentary slated to for release in 2018.

In production for over three years, Always at The Carlyle will offer an exclusive and provocative peek into the pop culture history of the renowned hotel. Over 100 personalities, guests and employees have been interviewed to discover their best stories and share their unique insight into the legendary address.

Signature personalities featured in the film include Woody Allen, George Clooney, Elaine Stritch, Anjelica Huston, Tommy Lee Jones, Vera Wang, Anthony Bourdain, Roger Federer, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Jon Hamm, Lenny Kravitz and Naomi Campbell, to name a few. Additionally, staff that are famous in their own right – from Dwight Owsley, one of the adored concierge for 36 years to Tommy Rowles, the well-known Bemelmans bartender for over 50 years – have also shared their experiences about the beloved property.

“It was both a privilege and a passion of mine to be able to gain access to The Carlyle for the intangible draw that's makes it so fascinating,” says director Miele. “Despite the discretion that

I’m proud to say remains intact, the walls might not have talked, but they definitely whispered,” he adds. "I'm proud to say the film has found the right home at Good Deed. That same kind of care that The Carlyle provides its loyal guests, is the same experience I am having with Good Deed, as they uniquely prepare this film for its theatrical debut in 2018."

“We immediately fell in love with Matthew’s film, which so vibrantly brings to life the history contained in the walls of The Carlyle and pays tribute to the experiences of the guests and staff alike, who make this hotel the timeless destination it is. We’re excited to be a part of this release, and are proud to include Always at The Carlyle in our upcoming slate,” says Scott Donley, CEO Good Deed Entertainment.

The documentary will uncover the lore of this iconic Manhattan mainstay that prides itself on the utmost discretion, and will feature many loyal patrons to uncover how they define its intangible draw. Additionally, the film will highlight tales from the tenured staff, who will share their affinity for the hotel, never before told stories, and what is truly behind its legendary service and reputation.

The deal was negotiated by Good Deed Entertainment’s Kristin Harris, VP, Acquisitions and Distribution, in conjunction with Matthew Miele, Director, and Julie Candelaria at All About the 360, Inc.

Many of the accommodations have been updated further with a more contemporary flair from designers such as Alexandra Champalimaud and Thierry Despont. Embracing a passion for the arts, pianos grace many of the suites, and most tower rooms have views of Central Park. The Carlyle also is home to the celebrated Café Carlyle, where Bobby Short played to sold out crowds for 36 years, and the famed Bemelmans Bar, with its whimsical hand-painted murals of Central Park.
