Named one of the world's Top 25 film festivals worth the entry fee by Movie Maker magazine in April 2013, and named one of the world's 5 coolest documen9tary film festivals by MovieMaker in November 2013, the American Documentary Film Festival's 5th annual event will take place March 29-April 4, 2019. 

The Festival is located in the beautiful resort community of Palm Springs, California. Ideally located 2 hours east of Hollywood, this film mecca boasts a favorable viewing audience and a proven track record of supporting independent films. Already the largest documentary festival on the West Coast of the United States, we feature documentary features, doc shorts, and animated shorts from filmmakers around the world. Our main objective is to promote a world vision of film as seen through the eyes of the filmmaker.

VIDEO Interview with Craig Prater, president Heartland Film Festival

Craig Prater, President of Heartland International Film Festival joined the 28-year old organization in 2016.  Previous to his current position, he served with entertainer Sonny Bono as the Executive Director of the Palm Springs International Film Festival, co-founded the PS International Short Film Festival and co-founded the Arthur Lyons Film Noir Festival. he spoke in Palm Springs during AMDOCS with filmfestivals.com
