Johnny Depp is entering the World of Tim Burton at the National Museum of Cinema in Turin
While shooting on his new film "Modi" about the life of Italian artist Modligliani, Johnny Depp visited the National Museum of Cinema in Turin on the 21 of February, and was, no wonder, very much impressed by the museum itself and the current exhibition "The World of Tim Burton". Depp and Burton have been collaborating on most of the films, and so many posters and paintings exhibited in the fascinating museum are from these films. Films like "Edward Scissorgands, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" or "Alice in Wonderland" just to name some of them. The visit was kept secret and private, and the museum was closed during the entire visit of the famous American actor and his entourage. Together with the president of the museum Enzo Ghico and the director Domenico de Gaetano, Johnny Depp took the impressive elevator to ceiling of the Mole Antonelliana from where he stepped outside on the roof of the building enjoying a 360 degrees view on the beatiful city of Turin. I've lived the same experience and I can fully understand his fascination with the museum, I felt the same while taking the elevator and visiting the museum just recently in Decembder while attending the Turin International Film Festival.
The museum offers a journey into the imaginary world of Tim Burton and into the mind of a creative genius, an exploration of his artistic work and his unic style fascinating all visitors and no wonder Depp was no exception and deeply impressed by the exhibition, and almost thrilled to see all these materials again related to the various numerous film collaborations with Burton. From the first sketches on "Edward Scissorgands", to "Sweeney Todd" or "Dark Shadows", up to Tim Burton's letter in which the director proposes changes to the lines of Depp in the film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Especially this letter brought back many memories to the actor and so he wanted to be portrayed next to it so he can send it later to Tim Burton.
