Achtung Berlin New Berlin Film Award

The Festival of the New German Cinemas of Berlin is entering its 8th year!

achtung berlin – new berlin film award will
again present within its different programme sections around 70
contemporary feature and documentary films of numerous running times
from April 18th – 25st 2012, which were either partially or
completely involved with a film production, producer or director in
Berlin or Brandenburg - among these are numerous premieres, which are
presented at the new berlin film award before their official theatrical release!

The focus of the festivals program is the competition Made in Berlin-Brandenburg, in which approximately 50 films will be competing for the new berlin film award.

In addition to the competition will be an exciting film section this year: Berlin Highights with gutsy productions far away from mainstream cinema. The beloved documentary film series Homeland Documentaries will be entering a third round this year and the section Berlin Showcase will again be presenting specialized film presentations. The film programs will be topped off with a retrospective and various film series.

With a focus on film creation in the region of Germany’s capital city, the film festival achtung berlin – new berlin film award has made an unmistakable and distinct mark. In the meantime, achtung berlin – new berlin film award
is the third-largest film festival in the city of Berlin as well as an
event with a high recognition for movie-goers and film professionals.
