 SEFF SPECIAL X ANNIVERSARY AWARD to honor producer Antonio Pérez
Seville European Film Festival has decided, on the occasion of its X anniversary, to present an extraordinary award to the Andalusian producer Antonio Pérez Pérez (Cordoba, 1954), who has been linked to the Seville festival since its beginnings. A Board Member of the European Film Academy, he is the head of Maestranza Films, the production company with which he has made many award winning films which have also been praised by the public. These include Solas, Nadie conoce a nadie, Habana Blues, La voz dormida and his most recent film, A puerta fría. At present, he is again in the city of Seville, immersed in the shooting of his next production, La ignorancia de la sangre, a crime thriller set against a background of Islamic terrorism, with a cast headed by Paz Vega, Hugo Silva and Juan Diego. The film, directed by Manolo Gómez Pereira, is being made between the Canaries and Morocco. SEFF is honoring the Andalusian producer for the affectionate support he has given to this event, for which he has always worked with great personal endeavor and an exemplary level of implication, helping to expand the SEFF and make it known beyond our borders.
