About Spain

The Spanish race to decide the best films, directors, actors and film professionals of the year has begun. Forqué Awards, FEROZ® Awards, MEC, Gaudis, etc… all giving hints before the Goya® Awards, due in Feb 9^th, 2014.

On Friday, EGEDA announced the list of final candidates to the XIX Jose Maria Forqué Awards, named after one of the most important Spanish producers. A 30000€ Award.

93 feature films, 58 documentary films and 3 animated films released between Dec 1^st 2012 and Nov 30^th 2013 participated.

Films

• 15 años y un día, by Gracia Querejeta. Producers: Castafiore Films y Tornasol Films.
• El cuerpo,by Oriol Paulo. Producers: Rodar y Rodar y Antena 3 Films.
• La gran familia española, dirigida por Daniel Sánchez Arévalo. Producers: Atípica Films, Mod Producciones y Atresmedia Cine.
• La herida, de Fernando Franco. Producers: Elamedia Inc., Encanta Films, Euskal Telebista, Ferdydurke, Kowalski films y Pantalla Partida.
• Las brujas de Zugarramurdi, de Álex de la Iglesia. Producers: Enrique Cerezo P.C. y La Ferme! Productions.
• Una pistola en cada mano, de Cesc Gay. Producers: Impossible Films.

This year there is a new award: Special EGEDA Award to the Best Latin-American Film.

EGEDA is one of the impellors of the newly created Platino Awards due in Panama in April 2014.

The Special EGEDA Award to the Best Animated or documentary Film, worth 6.000 €, will be revealed during the Gala due in Madrid, January 13^th 2014.
