The festival opened in Vyborg's main cinema with The President and His Woman (dir. Elena Raiskaya, Moscow), a behind-the-scenes look at the recent presidential elections. Also premiered was Welcome to Hell, Karen Gevorkian's documentary on the troublespots of the old USSR.
