The Festival is made
up of several sections: official feature and short
film competitions as well as a number of parallel sidebars including
a program for new territories and another for videos. The films compete
for the following prizes: The Golden Lion for best film; The Jury's Grand
Prize; The Special Award for best director; The Best Screenplay Award;
The Coppa Volpi Award for best actor; The Coppa Volpi Award for best actress;
The Marcello Mastroianni Award to a young actor or actress; and The Golden
Medal awarded by the President of the Senate.
