Monday's press screening of James Merendino's Livers Ain't Cheap was cancelled due to the print of the film being held up at Milan airport, because of a problem with its papers.
Obviously, this was bad news for everyone concerned, but it was especially bad for Dave Buzzotta. A few days ago, he was on holiday in England. He was planning to stop by in Venice for the screening of the film, in which he appears.
His is quite a small part, but as neither director nor stars were able to make it to the Lido, Buzzotta was lumbered with the task of publicising the movie. He doesn't have a press agent, but he is doing sterling work.
But it's debatable whether he'll be quite so keen to attend another festival again. GM
