On Tuesday, outgoing festival director Gillo Pontecorvo announced his final Venice jury, an eclectic mix, with writers, directors and critics all represented.
Roman Polanski is president and joining him are American novelist and screenwriter Paul Auster, directors Souleyman Cisse and Mrinal Sen, film critic Callisto Cosulich, Anjelica Huston (who recently made her directorial debut with Bastard Out Of Carolina) writers Miriam Mifai and Antonio Skarmeta, and Hulya Ucansu, film critic and director of the Istanbul Film Festival.
These names, Pontecorvo observed, reflect the sort of interdisciplinary approach that is part of the specific nature of the Biennale.
