Awards
One
of the highlights of the program is the European selection of films,
with each of the European countries represented in competition.
The section was initiated by the Union's French presidency and showcases
films from young EU directors. A jury will select one director to
receive the Prize of the French President of the European Union
2000, which brings a generous sum toward the film's European distribution.
A separate jury will award the Don Quixote prize to one of the films
in the State of the Union Section. A jury composed of five members
of the International Federation of Cine-Clubs will select the winner.
