A drifter wanders into a local bar and weaves his way through a group
of locals. His presence ignites the temper of a drunken ranch hand
whose flirtatious girlfriend spots the handsome stranger. A fight breaks
out between them. Another man steps in to break it up. He offers his help
to the drifter and takes him up to Mrs. Potts' cattle feedlot where he
can work for some money to take him to the next stop of his journey.
Delilah Ashford Potts (Kate Capshaw) is introduced to the drifter known as Clay Hewitt (Vince Vaugn). He'll work the feedlot with the rest of the men, but unlike the others, he will have an impact she cannot predict...
A poignant story about three hurt souls looking for love and respect, The Locusts is a moving exploration of fragile human spirits confronted with cruelty and persecution.
The Locusts (USA - 1997) was in the official selection at the Deauville
