PICKING THE WINNERS: The International Film Festival Rotterdam has a tradition of picking the Sundance winners, but from one reason or the other, the No 1 in 1996 - Todd Solondz's Welcome to the Dollhouse - missed the programme and went directly to Berlin.
This year, however, the festival is back on track: Jonathan Nositer's Sunday, which bagged Grand Jury Prize for features, is screening first time here on - no, too easy - but Thursday (6 February).
Described as partly psychological suspense, partly wry comedy, the film stars David Suchet, Lisa Harrow and Jared Harris in the story of Oliver, staying at a shelter in Queens, who is mistaken for a well-known director by a middle-aged actress, Madeleine.
At Sundance the Audience Award/Drama was shared by Morgan J Freeman's Hurricane and Theodore Witcher's love jones, and Hurricane also won Freeman the Directing Award. JRJ
