"Scrappy" will have its Canadian premiere on November 4th at 2pm in the Silver Wave Film Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
Based on the Studs Terkel Humanities Award-winning poem by Donald G. Westlake, "Scrappy" tells of a young girl's courage in standing up to the gun culture in the USA.
"Scrappy" was helmed by Westlake's daughter, Dawn, and shot/edited by Imatge Barcelona's Pol Carrizo Vilarroig. It was scored by Gregory Johnson of Acoustic Labs, a 2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee.
5-year-old actress Nefertina Lizarraga makes her professional debut in "Scrappy", along with her dog Kong.
