Sunday 24th September, Nordisk Panorama hosts the events of its partner dok.incubator for the second year running. Nordisk Panorama itself takes place from 21st – 26th September.
Eight hand-picked international documentary talents on the point of release will be presented at the dok.incubator preview. The high-end documentaries from 11 different countries will be introduced on Sunday 24th September at 10 am in Inkonst to all the industry present at Nordisk Panorama. Be sure to register here for an accreditation and book your calendar already from Sunday morning, in order not to miss these upcoming documentary talents, about to fly towards big festivals. Three of dok.incubator’s projects from last year’s preview premiered at IDFA, two at Sundance, and two have been selected for nomination for the European Film Academy Award this year.
The program will be followed by a screening and case study of the Finnish film The Good Postman by Tonislav Hristov, one of the most successful films from the last year’s edition of dok.incubator. The Good Postman premiered in the Main Competetition at IDFA 2016 and was selected to the World Cinema Documentary Competition at Sundance 2017 from where it travelled to dozens of internationally distinguished festivals.
The film began the dok.incubator workshop in spring 2016 at a very late stage.
“I didn’t want to go. I felt like I’d had too many of these courses in my life. Also, it is three weeks and I didn’t feel able to commit to the time. The director insisted, so I eventually agreed and in fact it was fantastic. “ says producer Kaarle Aho.
