The Fintech Week New York 2017 commenced August 22-24, at Seminar and Conference Center and Thomson Reuters. The annual event presented by Fintech Worldwide Ltd., featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, special presentations, seminars and networking sessions on Fintech ecosystem from Cryptocurrency regulation updates to decentralized Solar Energy platform by Greeneum, to automated crypto investment bank powered by security tokens by Polymath, decentralized Bank-as-a-Service by BankEx, Blockchain trailblazers by IBM and three-dimensional, augmented and virtual reality system for content creators on the blockchain platform by Cappasity.
Regulation Update (Cryptocurrency) panel session with industry leaders Nick Spanos, founder, Bitcoin Center; partner/co-founder David Silver, Silver Law Group; and Dana Syracuse, senior counsel, Perkins Coie moderated by Carol Van Cleef, partner, BakerHostetler commenced Tuesday, August 22. Panelists discussed U.S. FinCEN laws of decentralized autonomous organization for cryptocurrency, FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Investment Report, ICOs (Initial Coin Offering) legal analysis, State level model code legalization for virtual currency and KRAKEN trading strategy announcement. Questions posed by Van Cleef to the panelists included “If you look at commodity, what's the result of that analysis?"
Blockchain Trailblazers special presentation with General Manager, IBM Blockchain Services Jason Kelley, IBM, commenced Tuesday, August 22. Kelley's presentation included blockchain technology case study of Walmart Transparency in Supply Chain (food products); MAERSK Global Tamperproof Tracking System, a consortium of Digital Trade Chain for backend processing cross border payments in trade; and the qualifications of a blockchain trailblazer.
Decentralized Bank-as-a-Service with BankEx special presentation with founder Igor Khmel, BankEx, commenced Wednesday, August 23. Khmel introduced BankEx, an open source proof of asset protocol and the blockchain ecosystem built around it. Questions posed by Fintech attendees included "How does BankEx interface with asset liquidity? On a legal standpoint, let's say, I own a token and the mine bankrupts. How do I get my claim?"
Round 1 Intros on Fast Paced Company presentation commenced Thursday, August 24. The most highly acclaimed innovative companies included Marianna Alshina, co-founder, Cappasity, a three-dimensional, augmented and virtual reality system for content creators on the blockchain platform for retail, gaming, education and healthcare; and the new cryptocurrency ART. Questions posed by Fintech attendees to Alshina included "Is there any way to gain tokens without creating or selling original content? What kind of token is this? How does Cappasity make revenue? How much money goes to the creator of the content?"
Round 2 Intros on Fast Paced Fintech Company presentation commenced Thursday, August 24. The extraordinary line-up of leading innovative Fintech companies included Polymath founder Trevor Koverko, introduced an automated crypto investment bank system powered by security tokens integrated with the Ethereum blockchain; and co-founder & CEO Assaf Ben Or, Greeneum / Solar Change introduced the use of Solar Energy over the Internet's Ethereum blockchain technology.
