The second annual Flying Robot international Film Festival, the world's premier open competitive film festival focused on aerial cinema created from the perspective of drones, is now accepting short film submissions for consideration. Festival participation is open to anyone around the globe with an Internet connection. Entry fees are low. $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to filmmakers of winning selections in all categories. Submissions must be 5 minutes or less total runtime.
In 2015, FRiFF's inaugural event attracted 153 submissions spanning 35 countries across 7 categories. 20 final selections, as determined by the FRiFF jury, were screened on November 19th, 2015 at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco.
A panel of esteemed judges from the worlds of aerial cinema, feature filmmaking, robotics, artificial intelligence, media, and drone sports will critically assess this year's submitted films across eight categories: Cinematic Narrative, Epic Landscape, Drones for Good, FPV/Aerial Sports, LOL WTF, Promotional, I Made That! and Student Films. Best of Show and People's Choice awards will also be chosen.
Final selected films will be screened in October 2016 in San Francisco. A short awards ceremony will follow.
