US film "Land Ho!" is the opening film at RIFF this year. It is is a tale of friendship and adventure that chronicles two older men attempting to recapture their youth while on a trip in Iceland. So far, Land Ho! has reviewed excellent reviews, garnering acclaim for its "feel-good nature" and "quirky comedy." The film is written by Martha Stephens and codirected with Aaron Katz. "Land Ho!" originally made its debut at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival nd was acquired by Sony Pictures Classic shortly after the premier. The film which showcases many beautiful Icelandic landscapes. In recent years, Hollywood has become extremely fond of the Iceland, filming numerous flicks in the "Viking Country" including Noah, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Oblivion, and The Game of Thrones TV show. |
