Lorne Film 2014, an international screen event held over the weekend of November 13 – 16 in Lorne, Victoria, announced today the opening of Lorne Shorts – a short film competition open to filmmakers from across the planet.
Submissions will be accepted for films of up to 15 minutes in duration, with short-listed films featuring in the Lorne Film 2014 Program. The eventual winner can accept a prize of $3,600 in film editing from Melbourne based company iCandy Productions.
The initiative is the brainchild of Lorne Film Head of Programming, Nelson Khoury. Mr Khoury said today,
‘We at Lorne Film are very pleased to announce this initiative – we are constantly looking for opportunities to engage with and encourage filmmakers, emerging or otherwise. We believe Lorne Shorts provides the chance to achieve this aim for Lorne Film 2014 and beyond.’
