The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop open standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web.
I was recently asked to give a 30 minutes keynote about the links between Web and Cinema.
The presentation took place in Nice the day before the opening of Cannes, I called it "Web and Cinema friends or foes"
W3C President Tim Berners-Lee was a very nice host, with Jérôme Chailloux and Karen Myers.
Tim is considered as the main inventor of the web. he developped the url, the http protocols and the html.
I enjoyed a very creative discussion at his table with Tim and his colleagues, funny enough reprentative members of highly competitive companies like Sony, Universal... are working together and share a lot within W3C, when they colleagues in distribution obviously would not.
My presentation is attached.
