A late addition to the festival programme, Andrzej Wajda - Conductor of Shadows, will screen tonight as a double bill with Krzysztof Kieslowski: I'm So So.
Martti Pukko's 52-minute documentary has been added to complement the tribute to Wajda, at his own request.
It's close to 40 years since Wajda's Ashes And Diamonds (1958) established him as one of the most important figures in postwar European cinema.
Always reluctant to discuss the way his own life has informed his art, Wajda here talks frankly, perhaps for the first time, about his childhood, his formative influences, his politics, and the problems he has faced as a creative artist during a turbulent period in Poland's history.
