Review
Silvio belongs
to a group of teenagers who decide to take over their high school
to protest its privatization. They organize demonstrations, debates,
sit-ins, mingling political and more personal quests. Silvio feels
attracted to Valentina (Anna Galiena) and hopes to make love to
her for the first time. He finds it hard to communicate with his
parents who are not supportive of his fight, despite their own
anti-establishment stance.
Gabriele Muccino's second film tackles the uneasy field of generation
portraits. A helping hand came from his brother Silvio, who plays
the character of the same name and co-wrote the script. The result
of this collaboration is a subtle and acute observation of manners
showing the tension between children and parents who find themselves
surprisingly entangled in social standardization. The love agitation
is also very well captured and smoothly integrated into the political
issue. The whole cast of beginners brings a remarkable freshness,
not to mention Anna Galiena's outstanding beauty. Come te… stands
out easily in the stricken landscape of Italian cinema.
