Interview: Reidar Sorensen
1-2
A young girl
has been raped and murdered. The population forms a vigilante
committee that sets out after a family of dropouts living in the
village. The body of one suspect is found in the icy waters of
the river. An investigator is sent from Oslo to look into the
double murder. He is quickly aware that appearances are deceiving...
Like Junk
Mail or Insomnia, Karin Julsrud's first
feature is set in the snowy landscapes of the Norwegian north.
The cocoon-like atmosphere soon breaks up to reveal the quirks
and secrets of the villagers, to the strange tune of the director's
own quirky humour. Yet, the narration strays too much to really
grasp the viewer, who might get snowed in along the way ...
But if snowclad
mysteries don't put you off, don't miss this strange film...
