Tony Scott, whose latest film The Fan was pulled from the Venice programme this week, has confirmed to MPI that he's involved in the preparations for a US television series loosely based on his feature film debut, The Hunger.
The series will be based on the word 'hunger'. It's the hunger for lust, sex, life, money,' explains Scott. 'It's an anthology series, of which we've been commissioned to do the first 22 I hope we do 66.
While the first three episodes are likely to be shot in Shepperton, the London-based studio he and his brother Ridley took over last year, Scott says most of the series will be produced in Canada. Shepperton is where both Ridley and I did our first films, so we want to support it and see it grow back to where it was 15 years ago.
For my next film, wherever I shoot it, I will do all my post production at Shepper-ton. Ridley is now completing his last film [there].
