Tom Cruise will reprise his role of covert US government agent Ethan Hunt in the sequel to Paramount Picture's Mission: Impossible which the actor's own Cruise-Wagner Productions produced. William Goldman has been signed to write the screenplay while Brian De Palma is expected to be offered first refusal on the directing chores.
Telling Lies In America, Joe Eszterhas' story about an immigrant boy's experiences in the world of rock and roll radio and his assimilation into American life has gone into production in Cleveland, the writer's hometown, with Guy Ferland, whose credits include The Babysitter, directing.
Eszterhas is among Hollywood's highest paid screenwriters with credits which include Flashdance, Jagged Edge, Basic Instinct, Music Box, and the less than stellar, Showgirls.
Telling Lies In America stars Kevin Bacon, Brad Renfro, Maximilian Schell and Calista Flockhart.
