Hammer and Sickle
In the 1930s under Stalin's patronage Russian scientists started experiments to transform a woman into man. As a result, a shy woman named Yevdokia was turned into a well-set handsome man, Yevdokim. However, mentally it is not so easy to change. And science is helpless when strong feeling of love enter the equation.
Hammer And Sickle is a stylish second film by Sergei Livnev, the 31-year-old talented Moscow director, recently appointed to head of the Gorky Film Studios.
