Love is the favourite theme for director Alla Surikova, although Moscow Vacations, her 16th feature, is a lyrical comedy. 'A woman is a mystery. A beautiful woman with a mysterious Russian soul is an unpredictable enigma. And a big head-ache plus a pain in the arse,' says Surikova.
Moscow Vacations, features a rich eccentric Russian-turned-Italian lady (Irina Seleznyeva), who comes to Moscow on an strange mission. She befriends a local dog, falls in love with a Russian intellectual, 'a man with his head in the sky and a heart of gold' (Leonid Iarmolnik) to find her original Russian soul re-awakened...'
