Leslie
Kaplan was born in New York. She lives and works in Paris. For
the past several years she has conducted reading-writing workshops
in middle schools, high schools, and libraries of the suburbs
as well as at Universities. She is the author of several books,
including "Depuis maintenant", "Miss Nobody Knows"
(1996), "Les Prostituées philosophes", "Depuis
maintenant 2" (1997), and "Le Psychanalyste" (1999).
Gian
Vittorio Baldi was born in Bologna (Italy) in 1930. Since 1958 he
directed several short films, some of which received awards (Il
pianto delle zitelle, Golden Lion as best
short film in Venice, 1959; La casa delle vedove,
Golden Lion as best short film in Venice, 1960...), and produced
numerous films (Porcile and Orestiade Africana
by Pier Paolo Pasolini, 1969; Four Nights of a Dreamer by
Robert Bresson, 1971...). In 1998, he wrote the script of Nevrijeme
(The Storm), about tolerance and mutual respect, to be played in
Sarajevo.
A
Lebanese director born in Senegal in 1958, Salab Ghassan lives in
France. He has directed Beyrouth Fantôme (1998) and
several short films (Afrique fantôme, 1994; Après
la mort, 1991; L'Autre, 1989; La Clef,
1986). He is currently working on his next feature-length film,
which will again take place in Lebanon.

Born
in Genoa, Luciano Barisone is a journalist, critic, and film club
host. He has worked for the daily La Stampa since 1981 and also
collaborates with the RAI and all of the major Italian film journals
(Filmcritica, Cineforum, Duel). In 1990, he founded the review Panoramiques,
of which he is the director. He has been the artistic consultant
for the autonomous region of the Valle d'Aosta since 1985, and participates
in numerous international film festivals (Bergamo, La Rochelle,
Courmayeur, Locarno, Venice...). He has also written two portraits,
on Catherine Breillat and Robert Guédiguian.
Journalist for the daily newspaper Le Monde since 1995. Film critic.
Joint
editor of Pavé, weekly news of the Bouches-du-Rhône region. Critic.
He also contributes to cultural reviews on a regular basis.
