Victoria Tennant, better kas an actress (LA Story, All of Me) (and as the ex-wife of Steve Martin), makes her debut as writer and co-producer with Edie & Pen, a romantic comedy about two women who go to Reno to get divorced. After a night of misadventures with local cowboys in a bar, the two become unlikely friends, before they make a shocking discovery the next morning.
It is a project that has taken Tennant nine years to get from script to film. But in doing so, despite a smallish budget, she has managed to assemble a fine cast. Oscar nominees Stockard Channing and Jennifer Tilly are joined not just by Scott Glenn, but by the likes of Beverly D'Angelo, Louise Fletcher, Chris Sarandon, Michael O'Keeffe and C&W star Randy Travis (who performs the Elvis tearjerker 'Old Shep'). The music is supplied by another top recording artiste, Shawn Colvin. Nick Thomas
