It is a competitive 3 continents festival with films from Asia, Africa and Latin-America.
In a period of 10 days about 50 features is screened in 4 venues . This year Sogo Iishi`s "The labyrinth of drams" won "The Oslo films from the South Award 1997" and is by that guaranteed a commercial release in Norwegian Theatres.
"Jury`s special mention" went to Tsai Ming-liangs "The River".
