The
7th annual event is to kick off with the screening of Born
to Lose (The Last Rock and Roll Movie), a documentary
directed Lech Kowalski making its international premiere. 140
films are screening during the 7-day event at the Anthology Film
Archives with the closing night party and awards ceremony to take
place at No Malice Palace featuring the world premiere of Esther
Bell's digital feature GodAss. On Friday, 10 March,
the Underground Rising panel discussion will unite heads of underground
film festivals in heated debate on the future of underground film,
with directors of NY Underground, Chicago Underground, SF Indie
Fest, Microcinefest, RagTag Film Fest... And what is fast becoming
standard festival fare, an additional panel discussion on online
exhibition and the distribution of independent film. Another sideline
feature of this year's event, a five-day sidebar of music and
performance called Cine-Phonic to be held at CBGB/CB's 313 Gallery.

La
7ème édition du festival débutera par la
projection en première mondiale de Born to Lose
(The Last Rock and Roll Movie), un documentaire réalisé
par Lech Kowalski. 140 films sont présentés durant

de clôture et la remise des prix se dérouleront au
No Malice Palace, avec la première du film numérique
GodAss, réalisé par Esther Bell.
Le Vendredi 10 Mars se réuniront les leaders du film underground
pour débattre de l'avenir de ce secteur. Les directeurs
du NY Underground, du Chicago Underground, SF Indie Fest, Microcinefest,
RagTag Film Fest y participeront. Des débats supplémentaires
auront lieu au sujet de la distribution des films indépendants
et de leur diffusion en ligne. Une nouveauté cette année,
un sidebar de 5 jours, avec musique et autres performances, qui
auront lieu à la Gallerie CBGB/CB's 313.
