Moondance
aims at promoting and encouraging women screenwriters and women
who make independent films, in any genre, including feature films,
animation, documentaries and short films.
An extensive line-up of workshops are to delve into everything
from Script to Screen, how to Pitch your Story, or Film Production
in Hollywood.
The international slate of film screenings include the feature
film The Other Side of Sunday (Norway) by Berit
Nesheim, an Academy Award nominee for best foreign film and the
documentary The Other Angels (USA) by Pat Walsh
about military nurses in Vietnam, their triumphs, traumatic memories,
and reunion thirty years later. On the short film agenda, seven
films from Scandinavia including Man by Eva Dahr
presenting a day in the life of a Norwegian male, as seen from
a woman's point of view. Another short, The Oz Witch Project
(USA) by Michael Rotman is an irreverent spoof of the Wizard
of Oz & The Blair Witch Project. Many animations
are being presented as well, such as The Bride & The Broom
(USA) by Mabebe Delgado - a ghetto housewife dances into a fantastical
dream world and back again.
