Festival of German Cinema in Madrid

The festival will be opened by Volker Schlöndorff's competition entry at this year's Berlin International Film Festival. Volker Schlöndorff and the lead actress Bibiana Beglau will be present in person to introduce their film Die Stille nach dem Schuss (The Legends of Rita) to the Spanish press and audience.
An independent Spanish jury selected the following films: Bernd Eichinger's testament to Maria Callas, Der große Bagarozy, the compilation film about the life of a seaman, Hans Warns - Mein 20. Jahrhundert (Hans Warns - My 20th Century) by Gordian Maugg, the sympathetic portrait of an asylum-seeker Otomo by Frieder Schlaich, another competition film from Berlin: Paradiso - Sieben Tage mit sieben Frauen (Paradiso - Seven Days With Seven Women), the skinhead tragedy Oi! Warning by Dominik and Benjamin Reding, and Thorsten Schmidt's modern urban fairytale Schnee in der Neujahrsnacht (Snow On New Year's Eve).
