For
its thirteenth year as one of the largest video festivals in the
United States, the Dallas Video Festival is once again presented
by the Video Association of Dallas and curated by Bart Weiss,
Artistic Director. Over 9,000 people attend the four-day event,
which brings art and technology together, and includes over 250
screenings of videos, from 30 second commercials to 2-hour features/documentaries
and every artistic genre in between, presented simultaneously
in multiple areas of the Dallas Theater Center.
New this year,The People's Choice or Stump the Programmer will
show what wasn't chosen for the festival in comparison to what
was chosen, and is open for a popular vote. Twenty-nine of the
unaccepted videos submitted are available for on-demand access
by users on Yahoo! Broadcast (www.broadcast.com/video/dvf/peoples_choice)
before being presented in the framework of the festival on Friday
24.
