Past President of Women in Film, Bonny Dore was in Cannes supporting chapter member Sheryl Lee Ralph who was announcing the upcoming Jamerican Film and Music Festival. Bonny elaborated on the aims of Women in Film, including the Crystal Awards.

Women In Film's Crystal Awards were established in 1977 to honor outstanding women who, through their endurance and the excellence of their work, have helped expand the role of women in the industry. Since that time it has become one of the most esteemed awards ceremonies in the entertainment industry. The Crystal Awards Ceremony is traditionally a sold-out, high-profile, star-studded event--Attended by nearly 1500 celebrities, top entertainment professionals, business executives, media and the public. The annual WIF luncheon will be held Friday, June 9, at the Century Plaza Hotel.

The 24th annual Crystal Awards will celebrate the careers of 2000 honorees: Academy Award-winning actress, Jessica Lange, President of Universal Pictures Distribution, Nikki Rocco, who was the first women to head a major studio distribution operation, and legendary Producer Barbara Boyle (Phenomenon, Instinct). Emmy Award-winning film and television director, Mimi Leder will receive the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award. Denzel and Pauletta Washington will receive the Norma Zarky Humanitarian Award for their many charitable contributions. Ron Meyer, President of Universal Studios will be presenting to Nikki Rocco and Steven Spielberg will be presenting to Mimi Leder. Goldie Hawn and her daughter actress, Kate Hudson will be hosts for the afternoon.
