| Eastwood centerpiece of the New York Film Festival |
When you have one of the most recognizable faces in film in the same room as you, there is undoubtedly a level of excitement. Clint Eastwood came to New York City today for a press conference for his new film Changeling, which serves as the centerpiece of the New York Film Festival. Being his affable, laconic self is easy for the still handsome Clint, whose directing career is even surpassing his accomplishments as an actor. With such recent films as Million Dollar Baby and Sands Of Iwo Jima, the Oscar winner is on a hot streak that shows no signs of slowing down....quite an accomplishment for a man in his 70s. A special showing out of competition on Thursday, Day Seven of the fest at the gloriously renovated Teatro Victoria Eugenia was Jonathan Demme's new film "Rachel Getting Married", starring beauteous limpid-eyed dark haired Ann Hathaway in an uncharacteristically less-than-glamorous role as a recovering dope addict, and a host of unknowns supporting her act. Mister Demme, director of such megahits as "Silence of the Lambs" and "Philadelphia" is also president of the jury here this year and met the press following the screening of his latest work.

| San Sebastian 56 Will Have an 'Infusciating' New Look |
If you're tired of those same old raggedy Red Carpets every year the 56th edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival which opens on September 18 has anounced a major change in decor --the Red Carpet this year will be FUCHSIA... and not just one rug for the stars to cavort on on on their way to the galas, but two! A carpet 9O metres long (about one American football field) will lead up the main beachfront thoroughfare to the surrealistic Kursaal complex, otherwise known as 'The Cube', where the festival is centered, and a second fuchsia tapis, this one a mere forty metres in length, will provide colorful footing for the stars and celebs entering galas at the Victoria Eugenia theatre.
