Dorothy Gale, the beloved youngster made famous by L Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Roger S. Baum’s continuing children’s adventure tale Dorothy of Oz, invites you to join her as she returns to the magical land of Oz through the new franchise being created by Emerald City of Oz, LLC. Rooted in the rich heritage of America’s foremost fairytale Emerald City of Oz LLC builds upon the enormous popularity of Dorothy Gale and introduces children to the enchanting Land of Oz where they will have the opportunity to reacquaint with old friends such as The Scarecrow, Lion, and Tin Woodsman, as well as Munchkins, Winkies, and Flying Monkeys. Dorothy will also introduce us to a whole new circle of friends, each with a unique personality, look, and talent that are sure to delight and entertain children of all ages. Since it’s initial launch in 1900, over 100 years ago, the Oz legacy has evolved into a global phenomenon generating countless billions of dollars of revenue through a sweeping publishing program of Oz related books, magazines, and related materials published worldwide and selling tens of millions of copies. The popularity of Dorothy Gale and the magical Land of Oz has spawned an array of products from apparel and toys to youth electronics, home décor and stationary that has captured the imagination of fans for over a century and extended the storylines into homes across the globe and dialogue into every-day common vernacular. It is our vision to develop, produce and distribute the intellectual property (IP) as filmed entertainment and digital content and to exploit all marketing and licensing opportunities the products create. Dorothy Gale is from Kansas and will visit her friends that live in Oz which is made up four distinct “lands” and numerous “counties” each with inimitable inhabitants such the Dainty China Princess from China County, Marshall Mallow and General Apple from Candy County, and of a wide assortment of fairies, gnomes, witches and wizards. The magical experience will transcend into an animated musical in 2011 with the premiere of Dorothy of Oz voiced by an all-star cast – the first in a series of three animated films to transport kids into the magical Land of Oz. Fans will also be excited when the franchise launches a Virtual online community for Oz enthusiasts where they will be able to explore the lands and counties of OZ, interact with the inhabitants of Oz, network with other Oz fans, and play exciting and fun games, as well as make crafts, go on quests, and personalize their own homes in Oz.
