David Branin

Writer/Director David Branin grew up near Hartford, Connecticut.  Raised by a single deaf mother, he picked up her skill of observing and reading people.  It wasn't until his college career was almost over that the dream of making a major motion-picture burst into his head. David and three of his closest friends wrote an original screenplay together and moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to pursue their own Hollywood ending. His pursuit of that dream continues to this day.

He is the Director/Writer/Producer of Night Before the Wedding and Co-Host of Film Courage.

His work has been seen by millions online.  His short films, Shoot-Out and Honey, I'm Home have garnered the most acclaim, having combined to screen in over 40 international film festivals while winning their share of awards.

  KAREN WORDEN
Karen Worden

Actress/Spokesperson Karen Worden co-hosts L.A. Talk Radio's "Film Courage".  At age 18, Karen drove herself and her belongings to Los Angeles from the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue her acting career.  As many an L.A. transplant will do, Karen worked several odd jobs to pay the rent.  Karen's had many interesting work experiences which have further flavored her character.

Karen's style is earthy with a slight touch of fire (thanks to a combination of a sun in Pisces with a Sagittarius rising for all you astrology buffs), easygoing, intuitive and direct. In hosting the new Internet radio talk show, "Film Courage," Karen seeks to probe industry professionals on their quest for greater things.  Karen's in-depth questioning discovers how individuals overcome the naysayers, along with quieting the harshest of critics - oneself!  She questions industry professionals on their fear of success versus fear of failure, overcoming self-sabotage, and developing one's greatest strengths.

Karen's credits include Honey I'm Home, Road Therapy, Weekend Get Away, Religious Freaks Gone Wild, Mind Over Matter Man, Smoking - The Movie and the latest Night Before the Wedding.  Karen also wrote and starred in a one-woman play showcased at the Space Theatre entitled The Other Woman, as well as being featured in several commercials and print ads.  One of her favorite shoots was working with Richard Simmons on his Sweatin' to the Oldies series.

Film Courage Presents the World Premiere of GOODBYE PROMISE - Los Angeles 6-1-12

Please join us on Friday, June 1st, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. for the world premiere screening of Goodbye Promise.  Cast and Crew Q & A to follow the film.

Director: David Branin

Written by David Branin & Gregor Collins

Produced by Richard Jacob, David Branin, Gregor Collins and Karen Worden

Synopsis:

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Matt makes a pact with himself:  In seven years he'll be a working actor.  He makes a promise that if he isn't working by then, he'll pack up and return home.  This story begins seven days shy of the seven year deadline... and he is just as anonymous as the day he started.  This is his goodbye story.

Production Notes:

Then 26-year-old producer Richard Jacob served for the United States Armed Forces, risking his life on the front lines in Iraq during part of the production of this film. Parts of Goodbye Promise were filmed blocks away from the 2009 Los Angeles County Station Fire, capturing some of this unsettling footage, as a twenty-person set prepared to evacuate between takes.

This film is 100% improv, with no script or camera crew.  It was shot with no production budget, yet raised over $16,000 on Kickstarter in 53 days with 227 backers during a 2010 crowdfunding campaign to assist with post-production costs.

Goodbye Promise stars Gregor Collins, Sarah Prikryl, Todd Cattell, Brian Durkin, Karen Worden, Len Cordova, Frantz Durand, Christopher Guckenberger, Tyshawn Bryant, Johnny Giordano, Jud Bogard, Amy Walton Hamilton, Jordan White, Kevin Deen, Dean Matthew Ronalds, Brian Ronalds, Raphael Sanchez, Shann Christen, & Benjamin Pratt

Goodbye Promise will show Friday, June 1st, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at The Downtown Independent in Los Angeles, 251 S. Main Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Tickets are $10.00 online through Brown Paper Tickets and at the door.  Please visit link here: http://bit.ly/GMD2k6

The world premiere with cast/crew Q & A will be on June 1st.  Additional Q&A’s and screening times to be announced for the week long run The Downtown Independent which runs through June 7th.
