A marathon celebration of all things Bond; the best villains, the
best girls and the best stunts from the most enduring movie series.
The selection of five films included Goldfinger (1964), You
Only Live Twice (1967), Live and Let Die (1973), The
Living Daylights (1987), and The World is Not Enough
(1999).
Wednesday

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Outdoor screening!
The cult classic was screened in the middle of Luton town centre
free to the public. To the best of our knowledge it has never been
shown outside. With the support of the town centre and nearby public
house 'The Dog and Donut' this was one of the festival highlights,
memorable to the fans who participated in the performance and the
"Rocky Horror virgins" who witnessed it for the first
time.
Friday 15th June
The Commitments 10 year anniversary
Closing Gala
Alan Parker's wonderful music comedy turned 10 years old this year
and was celebrated with an anniversary screening.
Alan Parkers film of Roddy Doyles novel is an enduring
film and has proved to be one of the most popular films of the Nineties.
In the ten years since its release it has lost none of its humour,
charm or feel good impact and stands as a wonderful representation
of the Irish personality without being patronising and as a testament
to the unifying, joyous power of music. Great script, great performances,
great songs. It is one of those films that when you mention it always
brings a smile to peoples faces and there can be no greater
achievement than that.
