Awards and Wrap-ups

Amelie Woos Toronto Audience
Amelie from Montmartre The pleasure of film viewing and the discovery of new talent were overshadowed by the terrorist attacks on America, which hit at the middle point during the 26th Toronto International Film Festival edition. The festival did go on but many were those unable to make the expected appearances. Although void of an international competition, Toronto does award the Audience vote, which once again went to Amelie from Montmartre, the Volkswagen Discovery Award to Chicken Rice War by Chee K of Singapore and the FIPRESCI Award to Inch'allah Dimanche by Yamina Benguigui of France.
