Festival des Trois Continents

23 - 30 November

Africa, Latin America and Asia are the focus of this French festival, which closed its 21st edition. Eight days and more than 70 feature films, 12 of which were in competition for the Golden and Silver Montgolfières. Under the sign of Asia, the focus was on the Middle East with 11 countries represented, notably Irak, Syria and Lebanon. Mexico was the Latin American center of attention with 14 screenwriters attending the event. Homage to Sharmila Tagore, Indian Actress who starred in several of Satayjit Ray's films, while Africa was presented in a photographic exhibit.

Best Screenplay: Silvia Prieto by Martin Rejtman (Argentina)
Best Actor: Dabit Kurmanbekov in Askuat (Kazakhstan)
Best Actress: Rosario Bléfari in Silvia Prieto (Argentina)
Audience Prize: Askuat
Young Audience Prize: Luna Papa
