As the only French film festival in Italy, this 14th edition screened
15 films and programmed a retrospective of Bertrand Tavernier's
works. The France Cinema Grand Prix went to Haut
les coeurs! by the young filmmaker Solveig Anspach,
a love story featuring actress Karin Viard whose character is
caught in a battle against cancer.
The Special Jury Prize went to The
Specialist by Eyal Sivan et Rony Brauman,
while Voyages
by Emmanuel Finkiel won the prize for First Feature.

A selection of the best European production is to be screened
in conjunction with a four-day Forum proposing discussions
revolving around the Distribution and Circulation of European
Films, terminating in a closing presentation of concrete
proposals at the European Parliament before the ministers.
On the program for the press and Forum participants, a selection
of European films: treasures from European cinematheques,
films nominated for the European Film Awards to take place
in Berlin on December 4, films on Human Rights and an homage
to Marin Karmitz, producer and distributer who backed such
directors as Theo Angelopoulos, Lucian Pintilie, Krzysztof
Kielowski or the Taviani borthers.
