3rd International Film Festival about Insects (and other little pests) (FIFI 99) will take place in Narbonne,France from 20 - 24 October 1999. The preview will take place at the beginning of October at the City of Sciences - Vilette in Paris.

In 1995 there were 25 films from France, Japon, USA, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Switzerland

In 1997, 21 films in competition from France, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Austria and Canada.

Previous prizes

Grand prix: "Cycle de vie de la libellule Calopterix haemorrhoidalis" de Georg Rüppel et Dagmar Hilfert, prod. par IWF de Gôttingen (Germany).
Prix spécial du jury: "Chasseurs de poux ou le poux tabou" de Nicole Monteny, Areski Izri et Jean-Marie Dobby, réal. Michel Fansten, co-prod. Les films du rêve et le SFRS (France).
Special Mention: "Especies amenazadas: el olmo" réal. Placido Castaño, co-prod. COM 4 HD et Manuela Gutierrez (Spain).
Prix du public: "Beetlemania" réal. et prod. Nick Upton (UK).

The festival is open to fiction, documentary and animation films concerning the world of the insects (and other continental invertebrates) produced since 1995. The closing date for receipt of applications is August, 31,1999.
