From 7 - 18 May, Cannes is going to glitter and glow as the 50th film festival will gather together more screen stars than imaginable. In the middle of the parade of limousines, television cameras and flashing photographers will be all the Golden Palm winners as well as the ex-jury presidents of the last fourty-nine ceremonies. This retrospective group will be awarding the Palme des Palmes to the director who has never won a previous award.
Isabelle Adjani, under the insistence of festival organizer Gilles Jacob, finally accepted to replace last year's jury president Francis Ford Coppola. Such renowned directors as Woody Allen, Billy Wilder, Michelangelo Antonioni, Elia Kazan, Steven Speilberg, Wim Wenders, Maurice Pilat, Alan Resnais, Stanley Kubrick...will all be there. Even France's president Jacques Chirac is expected to make an appearance.
