 MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The first annual INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL is being held between Thursday 25th September and Sunday 28th September and is set to become the ‘Cannes of Comedy Film.’ The festival is a celebration of new and classic film comedy including exclusive premieres, day-long screenings of the top comedy films of all time (as voted for on our website), international seasons, director Q&A sessions, star-studded soirees and even a drive-in movie.

The festival aims to provide a platform for local, national and international comedy film makers to showcase their new work to the public, whilst also celebrating the heritage of comedy film classics. Of course, more than anything it is about putting a smile on people’s faces and spreading the happy vibe.

 ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The International Comedy Film Festival is an initiative of the English Riviera Tourist Board, who are working in collaboration with a large number of dedicated supporters.
Taking place in an area of the south west of England affectionately dubbed the ‘English Riviera, the festival is a celebration of new and classic film comedy including exclusive premieres, day-long screenings of the top comedy films of all time (as voted for on our website), international seasons, director Q&A sessions, star-studded soirees and even a drive-in movie.

Other unique offerings include silent comedy gems with live musical orchestration and a brand new short film competition called ‘EAT MY SHORTS.’ We are looking for the best short comedy films from across the world to be entered in the competition, with some amazing prizes up for grabs. Visit the International Comedy Film Festival website at www.icff.co.uk to download your entry form and make us laugh!

Why not plan to visit us this September on the English Riviera - the spiritual home of British comedy. You’ll be sure to leave with a smile on your face and some wonderful memories.

Submit your short to Eat my Shorts:
FILM FESTIVAL ENTRY FORM
The form is available as an Adobe PDF file that requires the free Acrobat Reader software to view and print.

We want your comedy shorts –And no, we’re not talking about the embarrassing pair of cartoon boxer shorts your mum bought you for Christmas. We are calling for submissions for the inaugural Eat My Shorts comedy film competition, which is being held as part of the International Comedy Film Festival in September.

The rules couldn’t be any more straightforward. The films need to be short…and they need to be comedies. Easy peasy. How short, you ask? Well preferably up to 15 minutes long, although if it’s a work of comic genius, then obviously we could have our rubber arms twisted and allow entries of up to 30 minutes long.

Entries must have been produced within the last twelve months and submitted on DVD in any regional format. Films in languages other than English require English subtitles. Simply download our application form here and pop it in the post along with your DVD by 15th September 2008.

Our panel of industry and comedy experts will grab their popcorn and watch all of the entries, whittling the witty creations down to the very best. We will let you know if yours has been short listed for a screenings at the International Comedy Film Festival in September, so you can show off to all your family and friends.

The winning films in each category will be announced at our all-star gala night being held at the Riviera International Centre - live from the glittering heart of the English Riviera on Sunday 28 September.

The categories are:
16 and under
17 to 21
22 and over
Obviously, you will be entering the competition because you have a passion for the genre and not for any sort of financial reward – although as a bonus, you will be glad to learn that prizes will include cash, flights and a very quirky award to pop on your mantelpiece. Watch this space for details!

Eat My Shorts is set to develop into a fantastic annual competition and a celebration of comedy film, so get creative. And remember, ‘laughter is the best medicine for everything, unless you are really ill, and then we suggest you call 999.
