The 2011 SIFF concluded its most successful year yet as 8,500 area residents enjoyed a selection of the best international films.

The Festival kicked off on September 30 with the opening night premiere of LIKE CRAZY starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones. The two stars attended to present the film and participated in a post-film discussion with the audience. Also in attendance on October 1 was John Sayles to present his film AMIGO. Mr. Sayles participated in the post-film discussion with the audience and was the Festival's first recipient of its Artistic Diversity Award.

The Festival, which ran through October 4, featured area premieres of 10 films which included: BLACKTHORN, JANIE JONES, TAKE SHELTER, and WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN among others. The Festival hosted 12 question-and-answer sessions and screened 69 programs.

The Audience Award for Best Film went to THE WOMEN ON THE 6TH FLOOR from France.
