The Dante's Inferno Documentary, now in post-production, started filming in Italy in February, 2008 and ended in the United States in August, 2008. This unique and breakthrough documentary presents Inferno, the first part of The Divine Comedy masterpiece, written by Dante Alighieri during his exile from Florence, Italy. Dante Alighieri finished Inferno during 1308.
The Inferno documentary is an introduction to Dante's travel through the first part of the afterlife, organized circle by circle and presented in an unprecedented and unique way that no other documentary has done it up until now. Dante's Inferno documentary is a visual and narrative travel to Hell. For this documentary, several scholars and artists were interviewed on Dante's Inferno in both Italy and the United States. Visually, we use most of Gustave Dore's illustrations as well as our original color illustrations from the upcoming Dante's Inferno comic magazine series and animation film.
The main purpose of this documentary is to present Dante's story in an easy and understandable way to encourage people to read The Divine Comedy book.
