Hokianga Film Festival's blog

Hokianga is the birthplace of New Zealand/Aotearoa, it is a beautiful place made up of small communities, many of whom are Maori. Our film festival is held in a traditional Maori meeting house, and features films made locally, New Zealand-wide, and from around the world. The theme is 'Camera in the Community' giving us a chance to tell our own stories. We encourage the submission of films from other peoples, particularly of indigenous people telling their own stories.
